Looking for some Healthy Snacks-here are some award winning ideas:

PB&J Flowers: For each sandwich, cut two slices of bread into flower shapes with a cookie cutter. 2. Cut a hole in one of the slices by pressing a water bottle cap into the center. 3. Spread the peanut butter and jelly on the whole piece and place the slice with the hole on top. From the wonderful people at Family Fun Magazine!

Banana Smoothie...or any kind of smoothie! In a blender, combine 1 cp. crushed ice, 1/2 cp. yogurt,1 banana, and 1 tsp. juice. Blend until smooth. Serve with a straw. For variety, try adding other fruits such as strawberries or blueberries. Freeze the fruit for a richer smoothie.

Stuffed Apple Scoop out the core from an apple. Stuff the center with peanut butter, cream cheese, or other spread. Top with raisins, nuts, or chocolate chips.

Healthy Sunflower Treat Your child will enjoy helping you assemble this treat! Spread peanut butter or cream cheese on the rice cake. Sprinkle sunflower or sesame seeds on top of the peanut butter/cream cheese. Arrange a few cut up carrot slices like petals around the edge of the rice cake. Add a celery stalk as a flower stem, and orange slices for leaves.
